About the Swordsman
Swordsmen, and swordswomen, are elite and masterful in the art of the blade. Their array of expertise ranges from the blunt force of the broadsword to the swift and decisive katana. There are many sub-classes to the swordsman, naturally. The majority of which utilize both a sword and a shield, although the blade master is an exception to this pattern and fights while dual-wielding two swords. The swordsman uses many things in combat including knowledge of the human body, battle tactics, evasive maneuvers, etc. Furthermore, they typically lack a focus in magic and ranged-attacks and therefore must resort to the use of "Chivalry" and speed boosts to get in close to their opponent. Chivalry, in the world of Sosaria, is the application of magic in combat with relation to blade weaponry. What this means is that they are able to channel mana through their weapons or shields to strengthen or broaden the range of their attacks to aid them in combat.

The sub-classes of the swordsman are as follows: Warrior, Guardian, Blade Master, and Berserker. Each sub-class comes with it's own stat boosts, prescribed abilities, weaponry limits and allowances, among other things.

The warrior uses the power of fire infused within his blade to deal extra damage from afar. Typically, the warrior focuses on strength and sometimes mana. Their strength rivals that of any other sub-class and can often cause seemingly innocent attacks to become skull-crushing blows. Warriors are only capable of wielding one sword at a time but are able to use their free hand to wield a shield, which they use for defensive purposes and sometimes offensive. The warrior is a seasoned and brutal fighter, similar to the berserker.

Name: Blazing Edge
Rank: C
Type: Action
Costs: 11 Mana / 5 Stamina
Element: Fire
Requirements: Naturally, this technique requires mana and a sword. No other prerequisites are required.
Description: Blazing Edge is a technique known to almost all warriors. By channeling mana through the blade of their weapon, they will conjure up an intense flame that surrounds the bladed portion of the sword. They will then either stab their opponent, slice them, or sling the fire at them. This technique can either be used to fight from afar or increase the damage of their close-range attacks.

Name: Strong Arm
Rank: D
Type: Command
Costs: 8 mana
Element: N/A
Requirements: This technique requires one to clap their hands together.
Description: The user will activate the Strong Arm technique by simply clapping their hands together. Once initiated, their strength will drastically increase for the span of five posts. This technique may only be performed once per battle, or else the user risks serious injury to their muscles. This technique works by channeling mana through the palms of their hands and into each arm, building their muscles for a temporary period of time.

The Guardian specializes in defense and defense-based abilities. Their shield is typically much larger than that of the other sub-classes and their sword the standard size. They specialize in earth-based Chivalry that allows them to conjure up walls and defenses for themselves or for allies. They are also able to easily channel mana into their shield to reinforce it's durability to protect against powerful attacks. Guardians can be a vital ally and an elusive enemy. They are certainly one of the most enduring sub-classes.

Name: Earthen Defense
Rank: C
Type: Action
Costs: 11 Mana / 5 Stamina
Element: Earth
Requirements: Mana is required for this spell as well as a stomp on the ground.
Description: Earthen Defense is activated when the user stomps their foot on the ground, channeling mana into the Earth beneath them and using it to shift materials in the ground into a wall-like defense in front of them. This wall is typically constructed of solid rock and dirt but is dependent on what material is beneath the user. Materials such as diamond, titanium steel, etc. are not able to be shifted into a wall due to their sturdy nature. It would take a much more powerful spell to bend such materials to the users will.

Name: Enduring Shield
Rank: D
Type: Command
Costs: 8 mana
Element: N/A
Requirements: This technique requires a shield and mana.
Description: This technique can only be used once per battle. If attempted more than once, the user will destroy their shield instantaneously. By channeling mana into their shield they are able to increase its durability substantially for 4 posts. In those 4 posts the shield is completely indestructible (except to Rank C or higher spells).
Blade Master
The Blade Master is just as the name would have you believe; a master of blades. Their mastery of blade extends to the point where they are capable of wielding two swords simultaneously, typically katana-style swords. They make use of lightning-based Chivalry and other magical abilities to increase their range, cutting efficiency, and speed of their strikes. They are often used as assassins due to the speed and efficiency of which they are able to take out their target. They are a primarily speed-oriented sub-class and have a low strength boost but easily make up for it with their lethality.

A berserker is an interesting sub-class as they tend to lack speed but easily make up for it in raw strength and power. They lack a shield but wield a very large two-handed sword that allows for both attacking and defending. The damage dealt by a berserker is devastating and is often feared by many. However, their lack of speed often allows others to gain the upperhand by putting distance between them and their foe. Berserkers are brutal fighters and will often show no mercy in combat, cleaving through their foes without hesitation.
