About the Shaman
Shamans, also known as 'magicians' for males, are the combatants of Sosaria who utilize magic to it's fullest extent, relying solely on magic rather than weaponry. They are capable of many feats which includes the use of magic with no medium or weapon. However, the majority of shamans make use of staffs and the such to amplify their magical abilities or, to a lesser extent, to attack and defend. Shamans vary drastically from sub-class to sub-class but the underlying core of their abilities is magic. The types of magic that they're capable of, however, is solely dependant on the type of sub-class that they undertake. From the elusive illusionists to the spitfire Elementalists, Shamans can be extremely dangerous to face in combat.

The sub-classes of the shaman are as follows: Elementalist, Illusionist, Taoist, and Reaperess. Each sub-class comes with it's own stat boosts, prescribed abilities, weaponry limits and allowances, among other things.

Elementalist
The elementalist is a shaman who utilizes the elements of nature to aid them in combat. This type of magic encompasses a large array of elements including fire, water, ice, air, lightning, and more. Elementalists are quite versatile and able to conjure up both massive attacks as well as enduring defenses. They are, as you would expect, specifically oriented toward the conjuration of elemental techniques. They have boosts in both health and, primarily, wisdom as both are vital to a shaman. Due to their lack of strength, speed, and stamina, however, they are somewhat useless in physical combat.

Illusionist
The illusionist is shrouded in mystery and, as you can guess, illusions. They utilize magic to trick one or more of a target's five senses into believing something is there when in reality it is not. This can be used in a variety of ways, including to distract a target, cause them mental distress, test their abilities, or for even the simplest of things such as changing the taste of foods. Illusionists are the most feared of the shamans as they often conjure up nightmares to take down their foes. In the end, it becomes a test of the illusionists magic against the target's will power. Without will power, one would be at the mercy of an illusionist.

Taoist
The Taoist is different from the other sub-classes due to their ability to fight both physically as well as magically. Although they are lacking slightly in some areas of magic, they do so in order to compensate for their physical ability. A Taoist wields a staff that is either blunt or bladed on both ends or a single end. Taoists magic consists of various different techniques that, primarily, have to do with their staff. Without their staff, they are unable to utilize magic. They use magic by channeling mana through the staff and thus conjure whatever spell they wish to conjure. Taoists are one of the few shaman sub-classes to use a medium through which their magic works.

Reaperess
The Reaperess, or Reaper, is a special type of sub-class similar to the Taoist. However, they wield a scythe as opposed to a staff. Using the scythe as a medium for their mana, they are capable of summoning a variety of creatures and demons to assist them in battle. Just as the Taoist requires their staff to perform magic, the Reaperess requires her scythe. The scythe is not only a medium through which magic is performed. It can also be used as a lethal weapon in combat. A reaperess can skillfully use their scythe to decisively take out their opponent without even using magic.
